Policy
What Commonry would collect, why, and how long it would keep it.
Last updated
This policy describes how Commonry handles personal information for members, organizers, and visitors of https://commonry.community.
Communities on Commonry may collect additional information for their own gatherings — a dietary requirement for a tasting, an access need for a walk. That information belongs to the community that collected it and is governed by its own organizers.
Only what a directory needs to function:
Commonry does not sell personal information, does not run advertising, and does not share member data with the venues that fund the platform. Venues receive booking counts, never names.
There is no behavioral profiling and no third-party analytics that follows members between sites.
Account records are held for as long as the account is open, and for 30 days afterwards to allow recovery. Delivery logs are held for 90 days.
Posts made in a community remain readable after an account closes, attributed to a closed account rather than a name, so that threads other members relied on do not develop holes.
Members can export their own data, correct it, or close an account from account settings. To ask for something removed that you cannot remove yourself, write to hello@commonry.community.
Requests are answered within 30 days.
