The Long Way Home
Nine public staircases in one morning, walked in the only order that makes sense, finishing at the Rill Harbor waterfront.
Fennwick was built across a slope, and the city solved that with staircases rather than switchbacks. Nine of them survive. This walk takes all nine in the order that gains height most gradually, which is not the order the map suggests.
We finish at the Rill Harbor waterfront around noon. Most people stay for coffee; nobody is obliged to.
Pace is conversational and the group waits at every turn. There are roughly 320 steps in total, spread across two and a half hours.
Builds the walking routes, maintains the annotated map, and knows which underpass floods.
