Volunteering
Three hours, once a month, close to home.
Demonstration only. In a deployment with accounts, this would add you to Saturday Shift and notify you when Noor Tamimi posts a new gathering. This blueprint has no accounts and stores nothing, so the button opens this note instead.
Saturday Shift exists because most volunteering asks for more than people can reliably give, and then loses them entirely. The group asks for three hours a month and treats that as complete.
Shifts rotate between a riverbank cleanup, a repair session at the Northgate tool library, and a food redistribution run. Members sign up for whichever they can make, and skipping a month is normal.
The group publishes what each shift achieved afterwards — bags collected, items repaired, meals moved — because seeing the number is what brings people back.
Shifts start at 9:00 AM and finish at noon. They have never once run over.
Missing a month is expected. Nobody chases anyone.
Every shift ends with a number posted to the group. Last month: 41 repairs.
