Technology & Tinkering
Small strange devices that mostly work.
Demonstration only. In a deployment with accounts, this would add you to Tiny Machines and notify you when Nadia Fell posts a new gathering. This blueprint has no accounts and stores nothing, so the button opens this note instead.
Tiny Machines exists for the project that has no business case. Members build weather stations for a single balcony, keyboards with four keys, and a clock that is only accurate at night.
The group runs a monthly solder clinic where anyone can bring a board that is not behaving. Roughly half of all clinic problems turn out to be power. The other half turn out to be a cold joint that three people can see and the owner cannot.
There is a strong culture of showing unfinished work. A project posted at the breadboard stage gets more replies here than a finished enclosure.
Bring the board that is not working. Somebody here has made the same mistake with more expensive parts.
Post the mess before the enclosure. Unfinished work gets the most replies.
A shared bin of leftover components at Fennwick Works. Take what you need, leave what you overbought.

Bring the board that will not behave. Four stations, four irons, and a queue that moves faster than you would expect.

Eight clinics in, here is the triage order that resolves about seven problems in ten before anyone opens a code editor.
